Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful training from accredited vocational program OR at least one year chair-side experience*

  • Speak and understand English

  • Treat patients from diverse cultural backgrounds with varying dental hygiene in a caring & compassionate manner.

  • Previous experience as a dental assistant*

  • PC experience

  • Experience with an electronic dental record

Description & Duties

  • Assist dentist during examination and treatment of patients, in operatory and/or dental lab.

  • Stock dental operatories

  • Follow proper infection control

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment

  • Input medical and dental history into electronic dental record (Dentrix)

  • Perform digital dental x-rays (bitewing & pan)

  • Request supplies from vendors & conduct inventory of supplies

  • Assist dentist in development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures keeping in complance with OSHA standards

  • Participate in quality management to meet JCAHO (Joint Commission) standards

  • Assist dentist in providing patient education
