LPN Full-Time - North and South Pontotoc Schools

Location: North and South Pontotoc Schools

Responsibilities:

• The school clinic nurse works under the direction of the Medical Provider.

The school nurse is responsible for observing, recording and reporting changes in the patient's condition. She works in collaboration with the clinic team (Patient, Primary Care Provider, Nurse Manager, clinic nurses) and the larger team (family/caregiver, community based services involved in providing care to the patient) across the lifespan who seek professional health services at ACCESS School Health Services in compliance with the approved Mississippi Board of Licensure and MS Board of Education.

• Direct reports to the Nurse Manager.

• Demonstrate competencies specific to the area of a school health nurse.

• Possess a minimum of one year of work experience in the health care area

• Possess good verbal and written communication skills

• Possess organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate well with children, parents, school faculty and administration

•. Possess the ability to work independently according to all nursing practice standards

• Certified in CPR (or obtain within 6 months of hire)

• Use a computer and various software applications

Medical Receptionist for School Based Health Clinic- -Tremont and Nettleton Clinic- Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Skilled at multitasking in multiple fast paced work environments

  • A pleasant personality while working with children and adults daily

  • Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures

  • Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations- Maintaining various files files and providing general office duties, e.g. scanning, faxing, data entry, etc- Assisting patients with paperwork

  • Answering telephone calls in a detailed-oriented and effective manner

  • Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist

  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred

  • General grasp of medical terminology, including insurance and general billing terminology

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

  • Experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms is required

  • HIPAA compliance patient privacy rules experience

  • Scheduling experience preferred
