Qualifications

Required

  • At least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (provide copy)

  • Pass a background check (conducted by the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy)

  • Register with the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy and renew registration annually (prior to March 31 of each registration period)

  • Pass a Mississippi Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (provide proof)

  • Remain up-to-date on required continuing education

  • Perform physical demands (long periods of standing, general mobility, use of hands and arms (including reaching), ability to hear and smell, ability to lift and carry, have specific vision abilities such as close vision, color & depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

  • Communicate effectively with excellent customer service skills

Preferred

  • Prior pharmacy experience

  • Computer skills

Description & Duties

  • Assist Pharmacy Director and other staff in all responsibilities

  • Complete duties such as processing and filling prescriptions, preparing and billing insurance, answering phone, and ordering medications

  • Enter information into pharmacy system (PioneerRx)

  • Review inventory, prepare and send stock orders

  • Perform Point-Of-Sale (POS) transactions
